SASSL Proposes Major Upgrade for Normoyle be added to 2012 Bond Issue
SASSL has proposed a major upgrade to the Normoyle Softball Complex to make it a 4 field Class A facility. The 22 page detailed $2.7 million plan was drafted by Overland Partners, Architechs and Bartlett Cocke, Contractors, in coordination with SASSL. The proposal was presented to the Parks Bond Committee on Dec. 6th, 2011. As of mid December it had not been added to the list of recommended projects as part of the $65 million allocated for parks in the San Antonio 2012 Bond Package.
The city council has final approval of the projects that will be included. They will discuss all proposed projects in January of 2012 and vote on the final list in February. The entire package is scheduled for a city wide vote on May 12, 2012.
We urge all players, family and friends to contact their council person and ask them to support the SASSL proposal for Normoyle ASAP. There will not be another chance for the next 5 years. The list of council persons for each district and their contact information can be found at the following web site address: http://www.sanantonio.gov/council/
